Data is also collected when you give us permission to obtain it from other businesses. For example, if you enter a joint competition we are running with another company, they may provide a list of the entrants who opted to receive our email newsletters as part of their entry. This information from third parties does depend on their privacy policies, so it is advisable to check what they are. We will only run joint promotions with trustworthy companies where it is clear how the data will be shared with us.
Some of the data is gathered by recording how you use our website, for example by using cookies. This might include your IP address and information about what pages you visited and when. They do not identify you as an individual.
Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites. We use them to help identify your computer so we can tailor your user experience, track shopping basket contents and remember where you are in the order process.
You can disable any cookies already stored on your computer, but these may stop our website from functioning properly.

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with 128 Bit encryption software on SSL. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us. The encryption technique we use is the highest standard available for e-commerce.
