Weather. It’s a topic we never tire of discussing in Britain and boy have we had some weather these past few weeks! Despite the torrential rain here in the Cotswolds the whole team made it through the flooded villages to keep baking, icing and packing our beautiful Christmas cakes and shortbreads! Trusty van drivers braved the weather to deliver ingredients and, of course, collect all those precious parcels for delivery up and down the country.

Several of us at Meg Rivers HQ have young children and talk has turned to the Nativity plays; which interpretation of the story (Someone Stole Santa is a push I think!) will be performed; the scramble for the right costume and the childrens’ endless singing from morning to night in order to be word perfect for opening night!

When we take your orders we’re often told of your own Christmas traditions and I love that a Meg Rivers Christmas Cake has become a tradition all of its own for some of you. I hope you can enjoy your preparations for Christmas and let’s not even mention snow.....shhh!
